THE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 2014 COMMEMORATION IN LERALA 04 March 2014 – GABORONE: The Ministry of Labour and Home Affairs wishes to raise awareness to the general public about the upcoming International Women’s Day (IWD) 2014 that will be held on the 6th of March 2014. The national commemoration will be held in Lerala Village in the Central District. Hosting the IWD national commemoration will help bridge the information gap on gender matters and the management of Gender Based Violence. The objective of this year’s IWD is to commemorate the achievements, contributions, efforts and struggles of women made towards the entire development process and discuss women’s past strengths and successes as well as their challenges, with a view to finding solutions to remove the constraints. The main objective of the IWD is to celebrate successes made by women for women. This year’s celebration will be held under the theme; “Equality for Women is Progress for All”.
