THE LIGHT OF THE WORD Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path. - Psalm 119:105 This Scripture teaches that as human beings, we are on a journey; the journey of life. The path of this journey is ever winding and twisting, full of potholes and rocks, sometimes a mountain to climb, at other times a valley to descend. It is therefore important for us to have light on this journey to show us exactly where to put our next step. According to the Scripture, it is only the Word of God that gives that light. What the light does is it brings us understanding of life. It shows us where to turn, jump, take short steps, take long strides, slow down and so on to be on the right track and avoid potholes, rocks, sharp bends et cetera. Therefore to choose your life partner for instance, you need the understanding the Word of God gives so you can choose the right person and avoid the wrong people. You need the Word of God to direct you in what you study in school, choose your career, help you relate with God, or even how to talk to people. In order to avoid accidents or in the worst case scenario, destruction in your journey of life, you need the Word of God to direct you. It gives you light which helps you take the right step at every point.
