THE LONG WEEKEND AT BRIBBAREE, QUANDIALLA AND MORONGLA There were many community events held in Hume over the long weekend, and I enjoyed some time further west for the Bribbaree Show, Quandialla Centenary and the Morongla Show. Smaller villages like these put on outstanding local events, which are always very well attended and draw in a crowd from right across the district. There is a lot of anticipation at this time of year as we head toward harvest so it was a good opportunity to catch up with farming families to hear how they’re going. It was great to see an impressive number of horse entries for the Bribbaree Show and Quandiallas eldest residents Melba Edgerton and Percy Pfeiffer unveil the Fettlers and Settlers Memorial Wall at the village’s centenary. I was also pleased to present a couple of lifetime memberships to Joy Dwight and Jean Langfield at the Morongla Show yesterday.
