THE LORD JESUS CHRIST DEFEATED THE WORLD The Lord Jesus came to deliver us from the power of Satan. While I was in the world, He was not of the world; ie, it was not part of the world system of Satan. He said. . . the prince of this world (Satan), and hath nothing in me (John 14:30). The prince of this world did come to tempt Jesus, but Jesus defeated Satan and his world system. Satan offered Jesus all the kingdoms of the world if only he knelt and worshiped him, but Jesus rejected the temptation. Instead, he chose to go to the cross where he died for our sins. THE THIRD DAY, God raised the Lord Jesus from the dead and gave him authority in heaven and on earth. God made him the Beginning of a new creation. The Lord Jesus not only beat world system of Satan, but deliver us from it. The Bible says: Who (Christ) gave himself for our sins to deliver us from this century (world) bad. . . (Galatians 1: 4). HOW DID CHRIST RID THE WORLD? By His death on the cross. He not only died for us, but we also died with him. We were in Him when He died, we were in Him when He was buried, and we were in Him when He rose again as Head of the new creation. BY OUR DEATH, burial and resurrection with Christ, we have been delivered from Satans world system.We are in the world but not of the world! The Bible says: Giving thanks to the Father. . . which has delivered us from the power of darkness, and transferred to the kingdom of his dear Son (Colossians 1: 12-13). Although the Lord Jesus has delivered us from the world system of Satan, He wants us to be in the world. He prayed to the Father: I pray that out of the world but that you protect them from evil (John 17:15). WHY WE LEFT THE LORD JESUS IN THE WORLD? He has left us in the world to take the Gospel to the unsaved. We have a message that can free people from the power of Satan. The Christian who faithfully testified of His Lord can be the means by which many people are won to the Lord Jesus Christ. This means that we are a potential threat Satans kingdom; why Satan hates us and seeks to destroy us. Now you can understand why we say that the Christian life is a struggle. WHAT IS THE STRATEGY OF SATAN against us as Christians? Satans strategy is to make us ineffective in battle against him. Satan wants to neutralize us that we can not effectively fight it. HOW WE CAN AVOID BEING DECEIVED? We have our minds renewed To avoid Satan deceive us, we must know the truth. We have our minds renewed to see things as God sees them. The Bible says: Do not be conformed to this world; but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is the will of God, pleasing and perfect (Romans 12: 2). The Bible says: . . . the whole world lies in wickedness (1 John 5:19). For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, is not from the Father but from the world (1 John 2:16).
