THE LOVING HANDS OF JESUS Stella Dhinakaran As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem. (Isaiah 66:13) Dearly beloved, God is our divine Comforter. He comforts us saying, “I will uphold you with My righteous right hand" (Isaiah 41:10). Why should we worry when we have such a loving and compassionate God? Why should we fear? His hands were pierced with nails and he bore the pain for our sake. According to Isaiah 49:16, He is our loving Father who watches over us every day by inscribing us on the palms of His hands. Where else and in whom can we ever see such a divine love? His hands are the hands of blessing and comfort (Isaiah 66:13). They are loving hands which revived and comforted the widow of Nain when she lost her only son and the two sisters Martha and Mary who had lost their only brother Lazarus (Luke 7:14,15, John 11:43,44). They are loving hands which removed the pain of the woman who was bent over and could in no way raise herself up since 18 years. Today, these same hands are willing to show you love. This loving hand shall surely touch you when you seek Him through prayer in faith (Luke 13:11-13). God used Deborah as His vessel of comfort to others. He chose her as a prophetess for the Israelites, as a judge and as a ‘mother of Israel’. What a great privilege! Dearly beloved, the Lord will grant this privilege even to you. In faith, wait at His presence being filled with the Spirit and commit yourself to Him. He will not only comfort you but also use you as a vessel of comfort to bring comfort to others. Prayer: Loving Lord Jesus, You suffered on the Cross on our behalf. Your hands were pierced with nails and You bore the pain for our sake. I come to your presence with a broken heart. Comfort me with your loving hands and refresh my weary soul. Use me as a vessel of comfort to bring comfort to others. In Your matchless name I pray.
