THE LUKEWARM CHURCH - PART 23 * LUKEWARM ABOUT SINGING (CONTINUATION). Singing of praise and worship: psalms, hymns, spiritual songs cannot be overemphasized. Even, Prophet Elisha knew the importance of singing praise and worship. He knew that it was a way of bringing down the overwhelming power and presence of God into our affairs. He employed the services of a minstrel or musician that could bring down the hand (powerful presence or anointing) of the Lord upon him for ministrations. 2 Kings 3vs11-15: But Jehoshaphat said, “Is there no prophet of the Lord here, that we may inquire of the Lord by him?” So one of the servants of the king of Israel answered and said, “Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who poured water on the hands of Elijah.” And Jehoshaphat said, “The word of the Lord is with him.” So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him. Then Elisha said to the king of Israel, “What have I to do with you? Go to the prophets of your father and the prophets of your mother.” But the king of Israel said to him, “No, for the Lord has called these three kings together to deliver them into the hand of Moab.” And Elisha said, “As the Lord of hosts lives, before whom I stand, surely were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, I would not look at you, nor see you. BUT NOW BRING ME A MUSICIAN.” THEN IT HAPPENED, WHEN THE MUSICIAN PLAYED, THAT THE HAND OF THE LORD CAME UPON HIM. Supposing, the musician Elisha called to minister in songs to provoke Gods presence or intervention was unholy, unrighteous, impure vessel (vessel unto dishonor); would he bring down the hand of the Lord upon Elisha? Certainly NO. This scriptural passage supposed to be food for thought and a challenging passage for our so called gospel singers, choristers in the churches of today. This is the reason we hardly hear genuine spiritual songs that are full of anointing that would move the congregants into highest spiritual realm, into the presence of God. When the congregants are in the fullness of the presence of God, they would experience miracles, signs, wonders, breakthroughs, etc, without praying, but, only by praising God. The choir department is extremely important department in the Church of God. They are the engine rooms of the churches. The choir departments must be spiritually and physically sanitized in the churches of today, through prevailing prayers and corresponding actions; because the kingdom of darkness is aware of its importance and they are seriously attacking the departments. When there is mighty presence of God in a service through genuine spiritual songs, imagine the kind of powerful prophecies, fiery or power-packed message or undiluted Word of God that would emanate from the altar, overwhelming anointing that would be flowing from the altar to the people would be massive. We supposed to be having these spiritual experiences in all our services in the churches and by extension in our various Christian homes. .....TO BE CONTINUED.
