THE MAKING OF A SILENT REVOLUTION A silent revolution is gradually blowing across the land and its climax will be the much awaited and anticipated 2015 presidential election. The revolutionary whirlwind of positive change has fully gathered momentum and shall unleash its ferocious power that will drive home the peoples collective will, aspiration and yearning for good governance, self fulfillment and effective leadership in 2015. Yes, the revolution has already taken place and it is still taking place in many states of the federation where the people boldly and blatantly choose light above darkness despite all efforts by the selfish power that be to coerce them into swallowing their vomits. Such states that easily come to mind are Edo, Lagos, Imo and Ekiti to mention just a few. The power of money and might that were on display in these states could not influenced the peoples good sense of judgement in choosing their governors. Today, those states are happy for standing firmly with their good conscience as the wheels of development are steadily moving on average speeds. Our House of Representative also witnessed this silent revolution when they defiled party politics and installed Tambuwal as their preferred speaker despite intimidation, cash exchange and blackmail. It was also a case of We eat your money and vote our good conscience in the recent APC presidential primary election when Atiku who dug a mighty ocean of cash for the APC delegates to swim in could not even scored one-third of what the cashless Buhari got. I see this as a replica of the 2015 presidential election - a silent revolution of good conscience without violence. But they must not rig our election. The argument that has been going on in our public space as to who the cap fits between Buhari and Jonathan is like an argument of choosing between freedom and slavery as the monster of corruption has enslaved us for too long in this country. It is an indisputable fact that the major problem of our country is corruption. Remove corruption from this country today and every other thing will automatically fall into place. And I ask the question: Is it Jonathan who said corruption is mere stealing and has been aiding and abetting corruption that will fight it? Definitely no! Remember that a person that aids and abets crime is as guilty as the criminal and the same punishment goes for them. Thank God that this silent revolution is all about removing and pursuing criminals from our body politics. Out of all the presidential candidates so far, Buhari is the only man that both friends and foes agreed that he is not corrupt. It is also on record that he doggedly fought corruption during his regime as military head of state and he has again made a solemn pledge and commitment to fight the monster to a standstill. People who are directly or indirectly benefiting from the present rotten system will definitely speak from the other side of their mouth, but it is time for everyone who truthfully mean well for this our beloved country to throw away sentiment, tribalism, religion and selfish motive and join this silent revolution to liberate our country from the excruciating hands of vampires who are fast draining its blood and digging a more than six feets grave for the dying empty giant of Africa. Base on my neutral and journalistic investigation and assessment, it is very heartwarming that those who are for this silent revolution are far more than those who are against it. It is now or never.
