THE MAN “DR. IFEANYI ARTHUR OKOWA BY SMART IKEM. The name Dr. Okowa,needs no further introduction in Delta politics and government. Born on the 8th day of July,1959; of Owa Alero extraction,has been able to affect the lives of men and women in different spheres of life.Had brilliant performances and outings all through his schooling days “from Primary through to the University” as an intelligent chap. Being a Medical professional,he never did badly before going into active politics. As a Secretary to LG,Chairman LG,State party statesman in GDM and PDP,Commissioner in three separate Ministries,SSG and a distinguished Senator of the federal republic of Nigeria,he has been able to prove his worth,with tremendous positive impacts. Being a man who has made selfless servant-leadership his watchword,he has been able to enthrone leadership of people first in the confines of his powers,being always ready to sacrifice all and his lots to the well-being of all. He has portrayed non-sectional leadership in his leadership capacity both at local govt.,state and presently federal that has earned him enormous general acceptability by many. He has proven that his a man that has the interest of his people at heart through numerous philanthropic gestures of scholarship awards,care for the widows and elderly,empowerment scheme for the youths,amongst others. More so,he care for traditional rulers and Priests as his mark of respect and honour for authority that be,cannot be swept under the carpet. His “no” criminal or bad track record that gave him “clean bill on corrupt practices” speaks volume as he has passed through several test crucible without being held back nor down by any ugly antecedents (as can be seen in the cases of many) to the glory of God. Going by this, the Delta State govt. and people’s account (treasury) will be guaranteed a safe haven as it will not be converted into private nor personal account under his watch as a man whose account of stewardship speaks volume. A replica of what a true husband and father must be,Dr. Okowa has been able to prove this in his home through children exemplary and proper upbringing in character and morals;and also showing true love and affection for the entire home. As a man with passion and great humility,he displays a high level of high sensibility and listening ear for the people through tender-loving heart that has made people refer him to “a man with the Golden heart”. His been down to earth and gentle nature,distinguishes him from other politicians that are known to be braggarts,bigots and boorists as this can be seen in his simple nature, characteristic of his easily accessible lifestyle to the people which we believe must have developed from the great fear of God already in-built in him. A peace loving man with soft-spot and feelings for his people,has never advocated an eye for an eye mission nor vendetta (the law of Kama);but rather has always sued for peace,seeking love and unity amongst all;and never seeking the opposite,always stating the obvious “that no meaningful development can thrive in an atmosphere of crises,rancour and acrimony”. Little wonder they call him “the Peace ambassador”;uniting “ALL” irrespective of ones religious,ethnic or tribal affiliation.As a dynamic and charismatic leader,he has never at any point in time played a divisive nor deceitful role in his leadership roles and abilities as carrying his supporters and subordinates along in all ramifications has always been his watchword. This has made his saleability across the entire three(3) Senatorial districts of the State an easy market as he remains a product to admire and most marketable candidate. Permit me to say here that being a man of character and exemplary leadership,his acceptability before the masses and all and sundry is unrivalled as he stands as the major candidate whose acceptability by the masses and candidacy,cuts across all nooks and crannies of the entire length and breadth of Delta State. Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa,being a man of passion,driven by the love for his people and service,always ready to share in the pains of his people and also ready to proffer solutions to their problems,is burdened with the utmost desire and responsibility to serve his people within and outside the entire land-mass of Delta State through job creation,heath care,education,agriculture,commerce and industry,rural and urban electrification,creation of tourism centres and re-awakening of the already dead and decaying centres,good roads and improved transport scheme/network,good water schemes,good environment free of hazards and proper utilisation of oil derivation/federal allocation accrued to the State through good and meaningful developmental strides. These we believe he can achieve through his enormous requisite and leadership experience with good grass-root knowledge of the state,in-addition to his been surrounded by technocrats and think-tanks that has the positive mindset of getting the state avuzz with rewarding activities without any scintilla of lack of trust in the govt. This will further be enhanced by his doggedness and good leadership charisma as earlier highlighted, through his good political strength and never a wavering servant-leadership disposition,always ready to go the extra-mile in salvaging and protecting the image and interest of his people. As a disciplinarian and a man of justice,Justice and discipline will not be lacked as he shall put forth such measures “not minding whose Ox is gored” to ensuring that the State remains the epitome of all in character,morals and emulation. The era of treating all and sundry of the state citizenry un-equally shall be put behind bars as all are one and must be treated as such with all equality. As a non-egocentric leader and one with proven track records,he believes and stipulates that the State must be an egalitarian one for all to thrive. My wish and prayer is that we have him as Delta State Governor come 2015 for all to witness “a re-writing of negative pasts of the State to the much anticipated positive one”....
