Mr. O’Rourke was the oldest of eight (8) children born to Bridget and Thomas O’Rourke in County Galway, Ireland, and came to America in 1971 at the tender age of 19. A mere two (2) years later he had risen to become the President of Division #3 of the Nassau County Ancient Order of Hibernians, making him at that time the youngest Division President in the country. He was honored as Division #3’s Man of the Year in 1980. rvcstpatrick/contacts Glen Cove March 23, 2014 1 PM The Glen Cove St. Patrick’s Day Parade forms behind the Finley Middle School, Forest Avenue. The Parade moves from the designated formation areas around the Finley Middle School and into Forest Avenue south of Dosoris Lane. It then follows Brewster Street to School Street. From there it moves into Glen Street. The parade was founded in 2011 by Kevin “The Professor” Denis, the owner of Profesor’s Diner in Kings Park, New York and celebrates the Irish cultural roots of Kings Parkers. The parade features numerous bagpipe bands, floats, hundreds of marching community organizations and a tribute to a Grand Marshal who has made great contributions to the Kings Park Community.
