THE MAZE RUNNER. Intense, suspenseful, good coherent story/writing, pretty well acted for a bunch of young up and comers. The only people I really recognized were Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Love Actually, Nanny McPhee) and Patricia Clarkson (Six Feet Under, The Station Agent). There have already been comparisons to HUNGER GAMES, but this reminded me much more of LORD OF THE FLIES. Still a good story on its own. I would actually pay to see this in theaters again when it comes out next week. Matinee would be fine, but I actually wouldnt mind paying full price (even in L.A.). Im not sure if its being released in 3D, but I think it might be worth a watch in 3D. I just dont know if my heart could handle it.
