THE MYSTICAL ART OF BREATHING Mystical breathing is based on three aspects: 1/NEAUTRAL BREATHING 2/POSITIVE BREATHING 3/NEGATIVE BREATHING Deep neutral breathing stimulates the negative and positive phases of the life force with the same equal amount of intensity. This method is best used when we wish to meditate or wish to totally relax and rest. This form of breathing is also a good basis to cope with nervousness or stress related conditions. Deep positive breathing stimulates only the positive aspect of our life force. This force is concentrated in the nucleus of our cells and since it is at the level of that nucleus that psychic consciousness is most active, it follows that this type of respiration stimulates our psychic consciousness. This form of breathing is best suited when you feel exhausted and feel the need for physical or mental regeneration. Deep negative breathing consists of inhaling deeply through the nose, exhaling immediately through the nose while trying to expel as much air as possible and blocking breathing for a few seconds while the lungs are empty. This method stimulates the negative polarity within the life force. Negative breathing is negative only in terms of polarity. Try this experiment: Sit down with your back as straight as possible, and place your hands in a relaxed position on your knees, feet flat on the ground, slightly apart. Grasp the thumb of your right hand with the thumb, index finger and second finger of your left hand. While maintaining your fingers in this position, begin to perform deep negative breathing. Inhale deeply through the nose and immediately exhale slowly, still through the nose, trying to expel all the air in your lungs. That being done hold your breath out for as long as possible without experiencing two much discomfort. Then begin a new inhalation. When you have done this for three or four minutes, resume your normal breathing while maintaining your fingers in the same position and observe any effects produced on the right arm. If you have performed this experiment successfully you should have felt a sensation of heat in your right arm. This results from the physiological effect produced by negative breathing. This technique increases the intensity of the negative magnetism emanating from the left hand and this magnetism, while passing through the right arm, causes in it a temporary negative overload which is felt as heat. This type of breathing is also of use if you suffer from insomnia and have a series of negative breaths before going to bed. EXPERIMENT TWO: The next time you feel tired or depleted of energy try this experiment. Sit with your back as straight as possible, feet placed flat on the floor, slightly apart. Place the tips of the thumb and first two fingers of your right hand at the base of the neck, to the left of the spinal column. Inhale deeply through the nose, hold your breath for a few moments, and then exhale deeply through the nose. Without removing the fingers, breathe this way three or four minutes, then breathe as normal. After a few minutes you will feel much better and have more energy. EXPERIMENT THREE Sit as described before. Close your eyes and focus your concentration on your right foot, then your left foot, for approximately 30 seconds each. Try to experience the life animating them, breathe deeply by inhaling through the nose, hold your breathe in your lungs for as long as comfortable, and then slowly exhale through the nose. After having done this whilst concentrating on your feet, do the same with your ankles. Then continue with your calves, knees, thighs. Try to imagine the bones, muscles, veins etc as you breathe deeply. Then move your awareness up to your abdomen as before breathing deeply and focusing your awareness. Try to experience the vitality in your body. Then move up to your chest, feel your heartbeat and feel the blood flow through your heart, then your lungs. Then move your attention to your back and the base of your neck. Breathing deeply as you do so you are gradually stimulating and awakening the psychic consciousness of all your body. Continue in this way covering all parts of your body from your feet to your head; imagine the muscles, veins, skin, etc as you breathe deeply. Finally focus your attention on your entire body. Breathe normally and sense the life force emanating within each cell of your body As you practice this important exercise more and more you may begin to feel a pleasant tingling in some parts of your body. Do not be alarmed this feeling is a result of your psychic consciousness awakening slowly in your body.
