THE NIGHT OF THE ASCENSION Tonight marks yet another night of significance and was ever caught in the vortex of the history of Islamic Jurisprudence. It is the night the beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW ascended or fared the realm of two-bow lengths with the view to receive the five daily prayers. He SAW started the journey from the sacred mosque in Jerusalem dubbed " Al- Masjid - Ul - Haraam", with the companionship of Angel Jibril AS who fared with him SAW to the sixth Heaven, which others called the "realm of the devil". He SAW was then in Mecca, Half asleep and half awake, when he undertook the journey, "Allahu Akbar". This however, constituted one of the precepts of the "Divine Preordainment". The seventh Heaven being the spiritual realm could only be reached through the disintegration of the being leaving the spiritual entity to brood through to the seventh haven. As the being is composed of the following five elements: 1. Earth 2. water 3. Fire 4. Air 5. Space The first four elements takes place within the fifth; which is "Space". All the above elements constitute the "Universe", hence oneness of self and the universe as in the "Mystic Law". All the elements from the being of the Holy Prophet disintegrated into unique parts which were inturn recycled into the universe, their various origins. this is the only way he SAW could have attained the state, "arl" and at the same time Stage "maqam" to face the countenance of the most high God thereby receiving the five daily prayers on the night of the ascension. So, may we live to witness many more nights of significance to come. On the night, let us endeavor to vigil "Salatu alal Nabi" 1000t, "Salatu Fatihi" 1000t, "Bismillahir Rahmani Raheem" 1000t, followed by our usual prescribed night vigils, for it is a night the Angels or Emissaries of God descend down to the lowest realm to convey prayers for approval and onward acceptance by the most high God.
