> THE OJ VERDICT :: 19 YEARS AGO THIS MONTH < Like JFKs assassination, the space shuttle explosion & 9/11 --if you were alive for it-- the reading of the jurys verdict in the OJ Simpson double-murder trial is one of those forever still moments in time. You remember where you were, who you were with, what you were doing. I was working in Silicon Valley & watched the reading of the verdict with an almost exclusively white crowd of people in the break room at the office. I was asked what I thought many times in those days; my thoughts at the time have not changed over the years one bit: I personally believe that OJ did it, that he got away with murder. However I also believe the jury reached the correct verdict. The question asked of the jurors was not, Did he do it? The question asked them was Is there the existence of a *reasonable doubt* that he did it? If there is, then you must acquit. Any reasonable, objective person would have to admit that OJs defense team successfully raised the sceptre of doubt. And not just a doubt but doubt on multiple fronts. The Dream Team of lawyers did their jobs effectively. Was the fix in with an all-black jury? Perhaps. But, if the jury reached the correct verdict, then all that is moot. That jury was sworn in November 1994; delivered their verdict October 1995. No intellectually honest observer could possibly say that over the course of the year of the introduction of evidence, witnesses, arguments, etc., multiple doubts that a reasonable person would have were not raised. https://youtube/watch?v=Nsnuhz-Kb7k
