Brenda Stripling Nichols Friday, July 11, 2014 My Help Recently I’ve learned of a friend in stage four cancer, a young father that the doctors say they’ve done all they can for him and a classmate’s daughter with a blood clot in her lung. Life has a way of crashing in on us all, crushing our very spirits and draining us of our faith; then, forcing us to fight whether we want to or not – leaving us knocked down, beat up and feeling helpless. But when it seems like its just one thing after another and all our hope and happiness has been drained from us, its time to stop and set our sights on things higher than our surroundings and our situations. Scripture encourages us to look to the hills, From whence cometh our help. For our help cometh from the Lord. (Psalm 121:1) I don’t know about you, my friend, but My Help is big enough and brave enough to step in and step right up and fight every one of our battles. He’s done it before and I believe He can do it again!
