THE ONE WHO SPEAKS . Before in time past, it was like this: “Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe His prophets, so shall you prosper” (2 Chronicles 20:20) But now in the last days under the Dispensation of the Son, it is not like that anymore; rather it is like this: “You believe in God, believe also in Me (the Son)” [[John 14:1]] . “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spoke in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed Heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds; Who being the brightness of His glory, and the express image of His Person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the Right Hand of the Majesty on high; Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.” [[Hebrews 1:1-4]] . From the scripture above, I bring these down: • The One who speaks is the Son of God • The One who speaks is the Heir of all things • The One who speaks is the One through whom God made the worlds • The One who speaks is the brightness of God’s glory • The One who speaks is the Express Image of God’s Personality • The One who speaks upholds all things by His word which He speaks, word of His power. • The One who speaks by Himself purged our sins: Thus, He speaks to those whom He has purged. • The One who speaks sits on the Right Hand of the Majesty on high • The One who speaks is so much better than the angels • The One who speaks has by inheritance (that is, naturally or by nature) obtained a more excellent name than angels. . This requires the most seriousness, considering the One who speaks. His words are different from other words of the Prophets before Him, different from the words of any other man, and different from the words of any angel. His word is superior to every other word spoken by men or by angels. . Are the words of the Son superior than that of the angels? Considering how a little doubt by a chief priest to the words of Gabriel, an angel of God, made the angel to strike the man of God with dumbness and deafness instantly. Even a great man of God and great priest like Zachariah could not doubt the words of an angel without being struck on his mouth and ears. Yes, the word of the Son is so much superior to that of any angel. As it is written, “Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard Him; God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?” [[Hebrews 2:1-4]] . Are the words of the Son superior than that of any Prophet of God? Considering how Moses commanded instant judgment and death to any man who disobeys his command. Yes, the word of the Son is so much superior to that of any prophet. As it is written, “For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose you, shall he be thought worthy, who has trodden underfoot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and has done despite to the Spirit of grace? For we know Him that has said, “”Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay,” said the Lord.” And again, “The Lord shall judge his people.” It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” [[Hebrews 10:26-31]] . Are the words of the Son superior than that of any man? Yes, the word of the Son is so much superior to that of any man. As it is written, “See that you do not refuse Him that speaks. For if those who refused him that spoke on earth did not escape; much more shall we not escape, if we turn away from Him that speaks from heaven: Whose voice then shook the earth: but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.” And this word, “Yet once more,” signifies the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire.” [[Hebrews 12:25-29]] ………………………………. • The One who speaks holds the seven stars in His Right Hand, and walks in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks [[Revelation 2:1]] • The One who speaks is the first and the last, He was dead, and is alive for evermore [[Revelation 2:8]] • The One who speaks has the sharp sword with two edges coming out of His mouth [[Revelation 2:12]] • The One who speaks is the Son of God, who has His eyes like unto a flame of fire, and His feet are like fine brass [[Revelation 2:18]] • The One who speaks has the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars [[Revelation 3:1]] • The One who speaks has the key of David, He opens, and no man shuts; and shuts, and no man opens [[Revelation 3:7]] • The One who speaks is the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God [[Revelation 3:14]] • The One who speaks is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last [[Revelation 22:13]] • The One who speaks is the Word of God. . This is of the One who speaks – “It is the Spirit that quickens; the flesh profits nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life” [[John 6:63]]
