THE PENTECOSTAL CHURCHES OF THE APOSTOLIC FAITH (PCAF) The Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith International (PCAF) was founded by Bishop Samuel N. Hancock in 1957. It was organized at a special call meeting in October of that year, and officially incorporated the following month, on November 20. Those in attendance to execute the incorporation were Bishop Hancock, Bishop Willie Lee, Bishop Heardie Leaston, and Bishop (Then-Elder) David Collins. Established from its inception as a Oneness Pentecostal organization practicing baptism by full water immersion, the group sought to create an organization that stood for the highest standards of holiness. Hancock served as the presiding bishop until his demise in 1963. The PCAF headquarters is located in Louisville, Kentucky. Bishop J.E. Moore is the current presiding bishop (elected 2008). The Voice in the Wilderness is the organization’s official publication. The PCAF is one of 12 major organizations born directly (or indirectly) from the womb of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World between 1919 and 1960. Today, it has nearly 300 churches across the United States and in several foreign countries, and remains committed to its trademark of spiritual excellence and integrity on behalf of the apostolic faith.
