THE PRAIRIE PARSONAGE Went to church this morning with my family. It was a sweet experience. Ate lunch at the Junction in Mozier. A cheeseburger. They do not understand the need for chili on a burger here. I want you to feel that you are with me. Because I want to feel the presence of each of you. I will give you a quick tour of Belleview. It is cupped beside the great river and part of the historic Illinois Road. Turn just off the highway and you will find Belleview. Just a few houses and two closed down general stores from many years ago. My favorite building is the old St. Agnes Catholic Church. It is used for special events now and not mass. It is quaint and lovely. My son pastors the only other church in this community. This is big hunting territory. The largest building is the hunting lodge across the street from the sanctuary. And then, the parsonage. This is where I have unpacked my life for the next few days. Today, I am quite content. Which is good.
