THE RAT STORY Crah crah crah….was the persistent noise that I was hearing for more than four hours, I asked my carer what’s the noise? He said, it’s a rat that had been struggling to come into my room for a long while now. He had seen the hole where this rat comes into my house from and had covered it up, but the rat wouldn’t give up on as it keeps boring another way into my room. He continued to tell me other things he had done to block the rat entrance into my apartment but still this rat wouldn’t give up. This set me into thinking, how often we easily give up at the slightest opposition to our faith and pursuit in life. Christ has assured us that in life, nothing is impossible to those who believe; He had also told us that by persistent faith, no mountain will be insurmountable, then what’s the reason why we are defeated? The reason is, we accept defeat even before putting up a fight. Christ said in Mt 24:13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved”. Who endure here means, he who persists on what he wants will have it. The reason you don’t have all you want is that you’ve not persisted enough on it. Don’t mourn your defeat with that little strength that you have, if you still have enough strength in you to cry then you have sufficient power to try again, don’t cry with you remaining strength, try again with it. If a rat can show such resilience in getting into a house, why not we show the same resilience in getting into our Canaan, remember it is those that never give up that will be saved. God bless you.
