THE REVELATION “Now according to Him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began”(Rom. 16:25). The cornerstone of the Christ- life message is the fact that a revelation brought by the Holy Spirit to the believer is an absolute necessity. After many years of seeing and hearing the things of the Spirit, it has become evident that all human preaching and teaching cannot take the place of the Holy Spirit’s revelation. When Jesus saw that He must leave this earth without restoring the kingdom to Israel, it became evident to Him that the only way believers would ever enter into God’s fullness and total understanding of His plan would necessitate a Divine revelation. Because of this, in John chapters 14, 15 and 16, Jesus clearly lays out the work of the Holy Spirit. It is obvious that the prime work of the Holy Spirit is to reveal Christ. Furthermore, it is important to note that the revelation of Jesus Christ is specific and definite. It is not ambiguous or uncertain , just as another bit of religious speech. Far from it. The revelation must be understood in its exactness. It is note revelation of things, of times, or of the future. Rather, this specific revelation which Paul received (Gal. 1) and which is specifically said to be imperative to the knowledge of the of the mystery was the revelation of Jesus Christ , Himself , as the believer’s life. Note, it was not the revelation of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, nor the revelation of Jesus Christ of the Book of Revelation; rather, it was definitely and specifically the revelation of Jesus Christ as the only life of the believer. This revelation does NOT come automatically with being born again, but the Apostle Paul, in several different scriptures, shows that the revelation must be sought after. It comes only when the Holy Spirit has the definite right to reveal the Son in the believer. This revelation, therefore, comes only when the believer is hungry, seeking and willing to continue, regardless of the cost, until this revelation has begun.
