THE ROCK OF AGES “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord...” (1 Corinthians 15:58) The popular saying, “solid as the Rock of Gibraltar” is used to describe a person or situation that cannot be overcome and does not fail. Gibraltar occupies a strategic position at the western entrance to the Mediterranean Sea. Gibraltar is a small, narrow peninsula, located at the southern edge of Spain. When a young believer remains resolute in his determination to follow the Lord to the end, Satan is no match. At conversion, you are well-rooted and stand firmly on Christ the solid Rock of Ages. You remain strong when your faith rests on Him; you will never slide, sink or be submerged in the ocean of the world. Let the waves beat and the billows roll, you remain steadfast and unmovable. Whether you come under suffering or intense persecution; you must remain stable and unshaken in your convictions and confidence in your Saviour. As a child of God, you should see a divine plan in whatever God permits to come your ways. You must not shift ground whatever happens, knowing that all things work together for good to them that love the Lord. Challenge: Underneath are the everlasting arms. Prayer: Lord, Help me by grace to stand till the end. Further Reading: Job 23:10-12
