"Tonight was the usual mix: an eclectic rabble of music fans, from the dedicated purists who frowned upon anything not in twelve acoustic bars played by dead black guys to the Jimmy Page electric blues-based rockers who wanted to blow out the amps and everything in between, packed into the hot, dark, basement cellar in front of the small stage that was stacked with amps and a couple of microphones at the end of the room, giving the musicians only about a foot of headroom below its curved stone arches."
