THE SCARECROW! (Principles of life 5) 21 By day the LORD went - TopicsExpress

THE SCARECROW! (Principles of life 5) 21 By day the LORD went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night. (Exodus 13:21). I remember vividly those days I used to keep a backyard garden. My interest in Agriculture was so grave that many thought I will be a farmer. I usually create my own man from a pile of sticks and then wear it a fashionable rags with a damaged hat to match. This was the man of the garden whenever I was away and guess its name… It was called the Scarecrow! Although the Scarecrow was to scare the birds and so keep the birds from destroying my fruits it normally ends up being the party table. The birds will perch on the nose, head and shoulders of my scarecrow and have a great feast. This infuriated me so I had to retire my man (the scarecrow) eternally. Like me, we all need scarecrows in our farms of life. We need scarecrows that will keep the enemy away from destroying our investments, from killing our spiritual growth and finally, from stealing the fruits of our labour (This is what the devil does best, John 10:10). Are things getting worse in your spiritual life, are your finances dwindling?, is your education slumping? Or are you just about giving up because of that leanness in your soul? Let me introduce you to the beautiful, romantic and fiercest SCARECROW I have ever known. I placed Him in my farm when my life was taking a dive. And wow, He is not only protecting me but doing a new thing in my life. That scarecrow is Jehovah Jireh, the Lord our provider. Have you ever wondered why the hungry lions couldn’t eat up Daniel? They saw the lion of the tribe of Judah (the scarecrow) and they were subdued. The beautiful scarecrow led the Israelites as a pillar of cloud during the day and as a pillar of fire during the night. That was beautiful and romantic to the Israelites but a fierce warning to the Egyptians. God is my beautiful, romantic and fierce scarecrow. You may have heard of Him but may not really know Him. He is waiting on the prayer line, pick it up and introduce yourself and don’t forget to employ Him in the garden of your life. God bless you!
