THE SCATTERING AND RE-GATHERING OF THE TITANS: 50 WEEKS TO GO. - TopicsExpress

THE SCATTERING AND RE-GATHERING OF THE TITANS: 50 WEEKS TO GO. Recently in the Pacesetter State, everything is about politics; every comment, action or inaction is loaded with meanings. Though there are no notable records of violence but there were reports of a couple of failed attempts. Its now a game of wit; starting from the social media strategies, networking of the footsoldiers, to mobilisation of the youths. Finally, the much awaited declaration of Otunba (Dr) Adebayo Alao Akala has been done; hes running for governorship on the platform of PDP. His camp seems sure the multiple candidates from Ibadan for the race would be to their advantage, as hes most likely the only non-Ibadan indigene in the race. We shall soon know if THEY will allow Alao this time; what he couldnt achieve as incumbent. Senator Olufemi Lanlehin has ported to the Accord Party and the formal declaration shall be done very soon. SOLAN has moved to where the minimum he can get is a return ticket to the Senate while he gives the governorship race a shot. As expected, so much excitement in both(Ladojas & Solans) camps now but lets wait and see for how long. This is a further depletion of the strength of APC in Oyo State. Best wishes Accord. Senator Ayoade Adeseun organized the biggest empowerment program for people in his Senatorial district; it was never done like this before. 43 different items (including money and cows)were distributed to hundreds of people cutting across the 11 local governments. Interestingly, there was a notable presence of another political party at the program but neither mention of APC nor her slogans at all for the duration of the program. The program was graced by royal fathers, a former governor of Oyo state, Senator Kamoru Adedibu and other dignitaries. A major crisis was averted in Oyo zone of the district and the success of the program is still the talk of the Oyo Central senatorial district. Mr Empowerment (Sen Adeseun)still keeps his options open but lets wait and see for how much longer. Labour Party and the emerging gladiators are still gathering momentum and networking seriously. Chief (Barr)Sarafa Alli and Asiwaju Yemi Aderibigbe are becoming more notable at the Party events and that means those of us waiting for the public declaration of these duo might wait endlessly. Things are getting clearer; events have overtaken the linkage of Senator Lanlehin and Otunba Akala to Labour Party. When the present excitement wanes down, we shall see the realities on ground in the Party; they wont labour in vain. Gov. Ajimobi seems to have colonised the state owned electronic media, a lot of offensive jingles praising his administration and attacking opponents. There seems to be nothing done about the depletion of the Party numerical strength, other than jingles. From all indications, greater are the forces against the incumbent, than forces for him. Its too early to fight such mighty forces and the incumbent camp is banking on multiple candidates against Gov Ajimobi to ensure the forces against them are not cohesive enough. It seems Oyo state is now very broke and people are raising questions on costs of projects executed by this administration. Our speculations indicate that the three incumbent Senators from Oyo state might all run on different platforms for second term. On the other hand, Prof Taoheed Adedoja seems to have started gathering momentum and consultations within PDP; something must have happened recently to brighten his chance of picking the ticket in the Party. Also, Senator Teslim Folarin seems to have overhauled his media team, there is a better social media presence and mature disposition to dissenting comments. Well done. PDP inaugurated two major committees in the last week; the Disciplinary and Elders committees. Its seems like a good step at repositioning. Double congratulations to Hon Kehinde Ayoola JP as he joins the PDP Elders Committee and formally resumes as Director of Planning and Research at Omi Titun-2015. More grace to the service of my Leader. With 50 weeks (ie. 351 days to go); the race is still very open and ANYTHING can still happen. LEADERSHIP QUOTE: Take time to deliberate; but when the time for action arrives, stop thinking and go in. Andrew Jackson Raising the standard of public leadership in Nigeria is a collective responsibility; please join us next Friday for fresh political updates. DESTINY BECKONS, POSTERITY SHALL RECKON. ADENIYI ROTIMI JOHNSON (OJASOPE) Convener of Revolutionary Youth Movement & National Coordinator of 1 Vote Club. Have a peaceful and fulfilling weekend.
