THE SEVENTH DAY SABBATH WAS CONSISTENT FOR ABOUT 480 MONTHS (40 YEARS) DURING THE WILDERNESS JOURNEY FROM EGYPT TO CANAAN About 1,500 years before the time of Jesus Christ, the children of Israel left Egypt on the 14th day of the month of Nisan by Gods divine power – (Exodus 12). A month after their departure, God gave them “manna” from heaven every six (6) days of the week except the Sabbath day, for 40 years. A quick calculation of 40 years into months will give us 480 months (12 months x 40 years). I will repeat the point in case someone missed it. God never rained manna from heaven on the Sabbath day which was the seventh day of the week for about 480 months (40 years). Exodus 16:26, 35 says, “Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the Sabbath, in it there shall be none. … And the children of Israel did eat manna forty years, until they came to a land inhabited; they did eat manna, until they came into the borders of the land of Canaan.” HERE IS THE POINT TO CONSIDER In those 480 months, the Sabbath was not determined by the new moon. By the way, during that time, there was not a Julian Calendar nor a Gregorian Calendar that existed. The weekly cycle of seven days was in existence from Creation to that time; even till now – (Genesis 1:1-31; 2:1-3). THE CONSISTENCY OF THE SABBATH WHICH FALLS ON THE 7TH DAY OF THE WEEK FOR 480 MONTHS (40 YEARS), ABOUT 1,500 YEARS BEFORE JESUS CHRISTS TIME WAS CLEAR EVIDENCE THAT THE NEW MOON EVERY MONTH FOR THAT PERIOD DID NOT DETERMINE THE SABBATH DAY. The lunar Sabbath theory that advocates the Sabbath day to be based on the “New Moon every month” whereby the Sabbath would fall on different days of the week in different months, is a false theory to distort the Bible Sabbath truth. Hope no one becomes deceived anymore by the lunar Sabbath theory.
