So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. Colossians 2:6,7 NIV Receiving Jesus Christ is not the end of your faith in Him; its the beginning! To be rooted in Jesus Christ, there is a lot of work for the believer to do! Gratitude most essential; but you must follow the Biblical teachings obediently. Dont listen to those who teach you that once saved, always saved; salvation can be lost, just like the Holy Spirit may be withdrawn from a person living contrary to the Word of God as experienced by many already. Be ye holy and perfect as God is is all about the application of Love, which does no harm to neighbours! Your holy living affects not God but fellow human beings like yourself, animals, birds and your environment really! But significantly spiritually reckoned as per dealings with human beings! Gratitude is an essential part of love for a heart that appreciates God and Goodness. Love encourages others too; all in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and for His sake. Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe; for our God is a consuming fire. We ought to enter His Gates with thanksgiving and His Courts with praise and Bless His Holy Name! For the Lord our God is Good and His Mercy endures forever!
