THE SURE FOUNDATION 52 (Impulsive Revelations) Larger Than Life What do you know that you think others do not know? What do you have that you think others have not? Where have you been that you assume others are yet to be? Whom do you know that you think others have no access to? How do you feel that you think others have never felt? 2 And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know. (1 Corinthians 8:2) When a man is too full of himself, he will surely end up being a fool in his life’s journeys. There are demons of over-estimation of oneself that blinds one’s eyes and perception to his/her true estimate in life. Can you imagine a peacock passing through the main entrance into a house and he is bending low? Is he trying to equate his height to the lintel of the door frame? That is pride at work in the peacock. Likewise, several human beings are not seeing the real size in them but an over-estimated size of their selves they keep seeing. When a man begins to over-estimate his worth, pride has set in and he will surely become larger than life. WHEN A MAN BECOMES LARGER THAN LIFE, ONLY DECEPTIVE PEOPLE HANGS AROUND HIM. THEY WILL KNOW THE TRUTH BUT THEY WILL NEVER SAY IT TO HIM BECAUSE THEY KNOW WHAT HE WANTS TO HEAR AND THEY ARE READY TO PLEASE HIM AT ALL COST;EVEN AT HIS DETRIMENT IN LIFE. YOU CANNOT BE LARGER THAN LIFE AND STILL FIND REAL LIFE WITH MEANING ON PLANET EARTH. If nobody can advise or talk to you on issues that bother on your advancement in life then negative situations will teach you bitter lessons about retardation and stagnation in life. Look at this: A young man sat for his GCE O/L examinations in the late 1970s and had six credits. Immediately after the results came out he got a job as a classroom teacher in a secondary school. Those were the days that school certificate holders were being employed into the teaching profession. Everyone around him counseled him to proceed into the university, he refused. Six months after he met a young school leaver like him who was willing to further her studies; he proposed marriage to her and she obliged him, they got married nine months after. This young man advised the wife to proceed into the university and the wife did. Four years later the woman graduated and the man showed his interest to also proceed for further studies, the woman stood against it, looking at the financial implications of supporting the man and still fends for their two kids. This woman denied the husband his right to her educational support; it was at that point the husband began to see reasons why many counseled him the first time to go to school in order to be able to rest early and being able to make provision for his house. Friends, he went through hardship to further his studies and before he got through, his wife had left the matrimonial home with the kids to an unknown destination till date. Learn from this: A pastor, who knew next to nothing about building construction, began to give deadline to the builders when a particular building should be ready for dedication. The professionals among them were just playing his scripts and dancing to his music because no one could approach him to let him see some things. HE DOES NOT ACCEPT MISTAKES AND ERRORS. HE SEES HIMSELF ABOVE EVERYBODY. Therefore, the concrete mix that was to be left for 21 days was only being left for 3 days and further work continued. While the third floor was being roofed, there was a major failure on the second floor and the entire structure collapsed from the third floor to the foundation and many lives were seriously injured, even some became disabled in the process. Money was wasted; time mismanaged and lives in jeopardy because somebody was beyond correction and advice. AFTER THE WHOLE STRUCTURE FAILED, HE WAS BLAMING THE PROFESSIONALS AND THEY TOLD HIM NOT TO APPORTION ANY BLAME TO THEM BECAUSE HE WAS NOT READY TO LISTEN TO THEIR PROFESSIONAL ADVICE. WHEN YOU ARE TOO BIG TO BE COUNSELED BY CHOSEN HUMAN VESSELS HAVING PROOFS OF DIVINE PRESENCE WITH THEM, THEN YOUR SITUATION WILL TEACH YOU UNFORGETTABLE LESSONS IN A HARD WAY. Listen to this: A young man does not believe in receiving counsels before embarking on a project in life. So, he went to pay for a plot of land that has been sold to not more than ten people at various times in time past and it has created controversies over the years. The day he began to mobilize workers to start digging the foundation was when he saw other earlier “owners” that had been restrained by the court until further notice. It was at that point that his senses came back to life. He went to meet the fellow who sold the land to him and he was denied of ever meeting him. Friends that was how he lost both the land and his money. Counsel is good most especially when it is from a sincere heart and a clean source. Pick a lesson here: A God-fearing managing director of a company, who was very nice to all his employees, was told very early in the morning of one day by his gardener not to go to the office that day because he had in a beer parlour the previous night where his name was being mentioned for an attack that day. The managing director hearkened to his gardener and truly by 11.00a.m some set of hoodlums invaded his company premises asking after him and they ransacked everywhere in his search till they got tired and left disappointed. He was to be kidnapped for them to be demanding for a ransom later. But thank God for the gardener and much more for the manager’s listening ears. PLEASE, DO NOT BE TOO HIGH FOR YOUR SUBORDINATES TO REACH BECAUSE IN THE DAY OF TROUBLE HELP MAY BE TOO FAR. It is my sincere and heartfelt prayers for you that the demon of pride will not settle in your heart to block your ears and access to other well-meaning people’s counsel, in the precious name of Jesus Christ.
