THE VA DOES NOT CARE!!!! They can apologize to the media all they want, but the experience my husband has had to deal with constantly with the VA tells otherwise. They do not care about pushing things through and taking care of the backlog that continues to grow. They are constantly making appts vanish, my husband has to wait over a month just to get an appt to get his needed meds for his heart and his PTSD medication (which he is out of) and there is no telling how long it will take him to get an appt to see a new psychologist for his PTSD treatment. As long as these people get a paycheck, they do not care what happens to the veterans on the other end of the phone they are speaking to. Many are rude, they do not have access to all the systems they need access to, you cant speak to someone in the local office who is handling your case, and all you ever get is the run around. One rep had the NERVE to tell my husband, well at least youll have a decent check when it does come through. THAT DOESNT FIX THE PROBLEM NOW YOU IDIOT!!!! We see it time and time again where veterans are dying, homeless, going without medical care, being thrown out of their homes, and their benefits being cut off for no apparent reason. This crap with the VA needs to stop and our veterans need to be taken care of. Maybe if welfare was as hard to get on to these veterans face with the VA, more people would be off their asses looking for jobs instead of living off the state. Veterans should have an easier time getting their EARNED benefits than lazy ass people who just want a damn handout. My husband is 90% disabled, but you know what, HE STILL WORKS HIS BUTT OFF to support his family and will continue to do so as long as he has to just to STAY OFF welfare. He doesnt want nor does he believe in a handout. He is in constant pain everyday and doesnt complain, he just pushes through it because that is what he was trained to do at the expense of his health. He just wants what he is owed for putting his life on the line for all those idiots to have the freedoms they continue to have... ~ELB
