THE WEDDING GARMENT John 3:16 tells us that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. This verse makes it clear that salvation is for everyone, but we have to accept this great gift. Romans tells us that when we accept Christ as our Savior, we are covered by His robe of righteousness. The man in the parable still in his filthy rags represents those who think they can get into heaven by either just sneaking in and hoping the King wont notice, OR they think their good works will give them entrance to the wedding feast. The Bible makes it quite clear that our works can never save us. Isaiah 64:6 tells us that all our righteousness (anything we do right) are as filthy rags. We are so sinful that none of our so called good works can get us to heaven or the Banquet; it is only the righteousness of Christ (His good works) that can save us! We receive this wedding garment, Christs righteousness when we accept what Jesus did for us on Calvary. It is simple: 1. We confess our sins, and ask Gods forgiveness. 2. We believe John 3:16. Amen.
