Bank governor Gill Marcus is expected to deliver a dovish statement and give the MPC’s views around a range of issues including the weaker rand, the inflation outlook, wage talks and the economic growth outlook. There have been several downward revisions to gross domestic product (GDP) growth forecasts since the last MPC meeting. Economists say weak economic growth projections are among factors that will make the MPC decide to leave interest rates unchanged.
