THEY GRIND EXCEEDINGLY SMALL: During the depression, there was a man who was a virtual no good in a rural community. He didnt seem to care for anyone, or show a willingness to help anyone, but he was exceedingly fond of a little boy in his family who was chronically and seriously ill. While the man was at town just gabbing and visiting, his son had one of his seizures, but the mans wife sent a neighboring boy to town with a hard-to-come-by dollar, to buy the needed medicine. The young man while on the errand to save the sick childs life, in pulling his hand out his pocket, dropped the dollar. Mr. good-for-nothing, not knowing what it was for, sucked the money up immediately, leaving the errand boy without the means to purchase the medicine. In time, the very sick young man did not survive . The errand boy had raised another dollar, but the lost time was critical. You can imagine how the father felt when he found out that his dishonesty had occasioned the death of his most treasured possession, his little boy. A wise member of the community, on hearing of this story, said, The wheels of God grind slowly, but they grind exceedingly small.
