THINGS I LEARNED ALONG THE WAY: If you want the highest possible Google exposure for photos or artwork, I found that Pinterest does the best job. I dont know how they do it but they do. My stuff usually shows up quite high in Google image searches within a week or two. When uploading, choose image descriptions carefully becomes the descriptions become the key search words. When Pinterest adds links to my images, those links take my followers where Pinterest wants them to go, not necessarily where I want them to go. But I recently discovered I can embed my own links in the captions along with descriptions. I include the links for my website, my store, and my FB page in the same description line ahead of the key words.
