THINK BEFORE YOU MOVE HOME!! To my Diaspora friends!! Please don’t allow anyone, I mean anyone sweet-talk you with lucrative jobs and positions in Nigeria to move home. I am not saying Nigeria is bad but be careful regarding promises of employment. A bird in hand is worth more than 2 in the forest. The stories of many that have left their jobs here, even sold their businesses, moved home and now coming back to start all over is pathetic. It’s a dream thinking you will be received with the red carpet treatment and a glossy life awaits you back home. Even in the best situations, go with your eyes opened and one leg in Nigeria and another leg in your base. The people you will meet on ground are not welcoming because you will be perceived as a threat and cheat for trying to jump queue. Some people I know moved home with all good intentions, with mouth watering lucrative packages but was used, abandoned, frustrated and dumped. That Governor or oga that talks to you because he is in London will become a stranger to you once you get home. He knows you are vulnerable and will mess you up big time. This is a privileged information because I talk and meet with few Nigerians daily by virtue of my line of business. The stories I hear daily are sad, especially to our ladies, some well educated professionals. My advice is pray and pray before the move for God’s direction. I commit you to the great hands of our mighty God.
