THIRD SUNDAY OF ADVENT He has sent me to bring glad tidings to the poor, to heal the brokenhearted. —ISAIAH 61:1 The question that lingered over her was heavy indeed: what if he doesn’t love me? Or worse, what if he can’t? This brokenhearted healing, these glad tidings, this promise of relief and wholeness and true communion—all are here now. Let Jesus reach through the temporal veil and draw you out of time and into the eternity that already exists in the sacraments and the intercession of saints and angels and the faithful departed. In this present eternity, God is healing the brokenhearted and bringing the message of perfect joy.
