FROM THE TOWN OF CLIFTON Flood Warning Media Release This is Town of Clifton Emergency Operations Center, speaking for the Town. Reports from the National Weather Service have forecast projections of concern. At this time emergency response actions are PRECAUTIONARY DUE TO RIVER FORECAST PROJECTIONS. All citizens in low lying areas of the Town of Clifton and designated floodplains should be prepared to evacuate immediately upon notification to higher ground. Flood waters may interrupt travel along HWY 191. Based on river projections the town Emergency Operations center may: CONSIDER TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE FLOODGATES IF ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY WHEN FLOOD STAGE REACHES APPROXIMATELY 21 FT. Town personnel and equipment have been mobilized as a precaution due the forecast. If evacuation is implemented, move calmly, but quickly, listen to instructions given by your local officials. Access information by radio, Facebook (Clifton Police Department), and Valley Telecom, Cable One Local Channels. You can contact the Clifton Police Department at 928-865-4145 as well.
