THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING Sparky is an approx 12 year old Dachshund beagle cross, he weighs 20 pounds, is black with white and brown markings. Short hair coat. Is neutered.Sparky was adopted from a rescue 8 years ago. He is leash trained, knows his commands, likes car rides but does pant during rides. He was wormed 6 months ago and is flea treated monthly. He has poor teeth. He is still able to eat fine, but has tartar buildup and some dark teeth and horrible breath. I brush his teeth as best I can which he allows as does he allow me to clip his nails and bath him and clean his ears. He is being housed with a 4 and 5 year old and before me was with a quiet elderly lady. He is fine with the kids but can be a bit nervous if they get overwhelming. I think he would do best with older kids, toddlers would be too much for the old guy. He is cat friendly, more curious and mischievous but not harmful and easy to correct when you see him become engaged. He likes other dogs, but like with children he gets overwhelmed with pushy dogs and growls warnings when he wants space. He loves play fighting and tug of war. Likes being walked but is just as happy sleeping at home with his people around the house. He is house trained but at my house because I had previous foster dogs who peed on one spot in my living room he will come down in the middle of the night and pee there, even after I shampooed the carpets. I just close the bedroom door and he sleeps in bed with me all night just fine no accidents. He has separation anxiety which makes him angry poop on the floors if left home alone so he is kenneled for those times. But due to being caged 24 hours a day at one persons home after the elderly lady passed on has anxiety of being in the cage and when you put him in he barks and howls for about 10 minutes then goes to sleep. The caging 24 hours is why I have him now. He is generally healthy, no major medical issues. No medications. He has food sensitivity and needs a good food. I buy either blue buffalo or Nutrience which is preservative, filler, corn, etc free and is a real meat first food. He loves the dehydrated chicken wrapped sweet potato treats and loves hiding bones and pig ears around the house. If he has crappy food he also gets a rash on his belly, as well as upset tummy and gas. The beagle in him makes it so you definitely do not want him to have gas! I will work on some individual photos, most have legs or another dog in them. I need to find him a new home because I am moving and unable to keep taking care of him any longer. He is relatively a quiet dog, barks at the mail coming in the door but stops once corrected and same goes for doorbell or knocking on door. When play fighting he grunts and woods, same if two people are play fighting or tickle fighting. He gets right in there barking and playing.
