THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE,someones gotta pay his young life, dunno if your allowed to post this stuff here but i want to bring this crap out.Surely i one little kid is dead and only 2 people know the truth then they are both complicit, before and after the fact and should be put away A man who had his conviction for murdering his partners toddler overturned has been found not guilty after a retrial. Brock Michael Powell, 26, was previously found guilty of murdering two-year-old BJ Williams by bashing him in January 2012. The boy was found unconscious with extensive bruising at a granny flat in Melrose Park, Adelaide, and died soon after. Powell was given a life sentence and a non-parole term of 21 years. He appealed and was granted a retrial, at which his lawyer argued the first trial judge had failed to adequately consider the possibility the childs mother could have inflicted the fatal injuries when she was alone with the boy for 10 minutes. The prosecution argued that explanation was implausible, but Justice Michael David found Brock not guilty of murder or manslaughter. He said the boys death had not been an accident and only Powell or the boys mother could have been involved. Justice David said both had lied and were unreliable witnesses and he suspected Powell intended seriously harming the boy. But the judge ruled it had not been proven beyond reasonable doubt. Another member of the dead boys family, Rebecca Missen, said the retrial verdict was a shock. No matter what you do, sometimes you will get away with, obviously, murder, she said outside court. Its just a bit sad that someone can get away with murder and not even have a manslaughter charge [proved]. Despite the verdict, Powell remains behind bars for breaching bail and is due in court again next Wednesday.
