THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME, WHEN I RE-JOINED ELECTRONIC ARTS - TopicsExpress

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME, WHEN I RE-JOINED ELECTRONIC ARTS POGO.COM PLEASE READ THIS AND BEWARE THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED TO ME ON JANUARY 15TH, 2014 THIS IS TRUE AND CORRECT AS IT HAPPENED TO ME If I were EA Pogo Games as well as its subsidiarys, I would not hire these fellows to do my Tech Support.....Im just sayin..... BE CAREFUL, there are several numbers that are posted via Bing and Google that say they are the Pogo Game Site. BEWARE, make sure you read what the link is that you are clicking on, or Pogo will take you down a dark alley and slap you around. I called EA (Electronic Arts Pogo Games) direct phone number that I found and felt sure about from my Google and Bing Searches. This BEGAN on January 15, 2014 Someone answered the telephone Pogo Games. I told that fellow (did not write down his name as I did not think this would be too hard) that I had forgotten my Password for the Pogo Site and that I just re-joined the day before. This fellow went into immediate hysteria telling me without a doubt, that my C Drive would melt, everyone on Facebook that I knew, the same would happen to their computers and further anyone that I had ever emailed would also obtain this dastardly piece of malware. He scared the hell out of me. Honestly, it is hard to pull one over on me. I had simply forgotten my password and wished to reset it, he told me to hold on, he would transfer me to their Technical Support Department. *******I assumed, as most would, that I called Pogo and they were going to transfer me to their Tech Support. After about a 15 minute hold time, either Ralph, Philip or Matt took the phone and in the same fashion continued rapidly talking and telling me THAT I MUST ALLOW THEM REMOTE ACCESS TO MY COMPUTER. The Tech Support guy, told me that I had a worm called the koobface worm (research shows that koobface is a virus, not a worm). He was speaking in a frantic tone and his iambic pentameter was almost impossible to understand. He continued to sound urgent speaking very fast and I could not undersand a word that he was saying. What I did begin to understand was that they wanted remote access so they could steal my accounts and further screw up my life. Suddenly, I felt the no no feeling as though, hey, this doesnt make logical sense to me, I only asked for my password. Yet this tech support fellow was yelling at me wanting the remote access again that I had closed down on him the first time, we need remote access NOW, he was speaking rather loudly and very quickly his voice and he started showing me pages of how a computer network works, and Wikipedias explanation of the koobface. After speaking with Philip, Ralph, Ravi, Austin and Matt (I spoke to each one of them that night. One of them told me they were in Costa Rica and after 5:00 pm (some time zone I do not know)the fellows us a cellphone and just answer it hello. So, I am in a total frenzy after being worked up and the chance that my computer could shut down, losing all pictures of my Mom and Dad when they were alive, and other pictures that I have taken since 2006 along with all the emails that I have saved and the list goes on. Let me get to the point now, so you can understand what was going on: I did call EA Pogo Games. When they said, let me transfer you to our technical support, what they meant was, we are going to transfer you to vcareexperts.net so that this THIRD PARTY can help you, but they DID NOT SAY THAT. Again, I simply called so I could reset my password..... Okay, to keep this short, I was all confused, from the way they talked, very fast and very heated, told me that this would cost me $99.99 to remove anything malicious and it should only take them 45 minutes tops. They also requested remote access to my computer so that they could fix any and all problems. I gave them the remote access now, because I was scared I was told to leave the computer and go do something else that I could do to be calmer. I came back to the computer almost right away, sat and watched the screen (Windows 8.1)for at least 1/2 hour, and then typed a message to them on the remote window that you see when allow someone remote access to your computer. As I said, after an hour and a half, the mouse wasnt moving, I sent the message and waited 15 minutes for an answer. I did not receive an answer, and it was clear to me that these technical people had not started doing whatever they were going to do, so I closed down the remote access. Within a half hour, Ralph called me screaming, you closed the remote access, why would you do this, it is only going to damage your computer further. (The following statement was music to my ears) We have been very busy and did not get a chance to access your computer remotely, so I am going to start permission for another remote access. Which he did, and when a window popped up asking it I wished to give permission for remote access,(this was about 6 hours later, same day)I thought all of this out, and I even called vcareexperts back and a fellow named Matt answered the phone. I was crying and asked him if he knew what was it that Ralph needed remote access for and why has this all felt like a big hustle. Matt spoke very quietly, and told me you have been scammed and hung up the call. I called my credit card and closed it asking for a new number and card. Did not incur any charges that started at $99.99 when I said I dont have that much money, Ralph asked if I could pay $89.99, I said I just couldnt, so he came back on the line after speaking to his supervisor and said that it would only be $69.99. So, I gave them the credit card number (which I closed) and they never acquired remote assistance because one I shut it down the first time, I became a bit more savvy to what they were doing. It helped that one of their employees was kind enough to tell me that I was being or had been scammed. No matter how pushy and verbose Ralph got, the more I suspected that something did not feel right. Reminder, I initially contacted EA Pogo Games was greeted on the phone, told the fellow that answered that I just rejoined the site and could not remember my password after 5 or 6 years, when I paid to use the site the first time. I wrote to Pogo Games at their website but have not received a response from them. PHONE NUMBERS THAT I USED: To Contact Electronic Arts, or EA Pogo, I was successful using this phone number: I really had to research and dig for this number: 1-866-543-5435 you must leave a short message and they guarantee that someone would call you back. Here are more numbers as well as a description of what the company does, and who works under this umbrella company. So I have copy/pasted from the Pogo Games Website: BELOW EA (ELECTRONIC ARTS POGO GAMES) Description EA (Electronic Arts) is developer and publisher of video games for online, PC, MAC, PS3, PS4, XBOX, XBOX360, XBOX720, Iphone, Android, Ipad, Ipod, Wii, PSP, and DS. EA (Electronic Arts) Corporate Office Headquarters HQ 209 Redwood Shores Pkwy Redwood City, CA 94065-1175 EA Tech Support Phone Numbers PC Phone Number: 1-650-628-1905 Console Phone Number: 1-650-628-4322 Online Phone Number: 1-866-543-5435 I finally asked what the phone number was to the tech support which I found out is a third party that will charge you for tech support and they will try to get remote access to your computer, or, perhaps I was THE ONLY PERSON that this ever happened to. I am not making any allegations, I am simply telling you my story and experience.......Vcareexperts.net who was the Tech Support that I was transferred to from the Pogo Games Phone number. I am sure this is a reputable company and it would never compromise, sell you a program to find the koobface virus that was ruining my computer, MY ADVISE, do not give out remote access to your computer unless the source is reputable (as I am sure V Care Experts is){{{pause}}}. Here is the phone number that I was given for V Care Experts once I found out what they were up to and after speaking to one of V Care Experts associates at the telephone number that I shall give to you. Just want you to know that I would NEVER allege that V Care Experts had tried to scam me, because they did not get the chance. You may read between any of the lines that I have written and taken the time to document from my notes that I took which include days, times, names of employees I worked with. Here is the Phone Number for Pogo Games Technical Support, or this was the number that I was given..... 1-888-551-9975 just so you know, because the person who answers the phone, when you start the conversation, I always ask for the persons name, so that I may call them by their name, AND I document everything. If I can not understand, even one word, I ask for it again. You must document things like this. If I had not, I would not have a spiral binder half full so that if I wish, I may pursue this. BEWARE, Tech Support, no matter how tiny your question is, they tell you that the only way they can fix anything on Pogo Games is by you allowing them remote access. As an example; here is the direct phone number for what is called Tech Support when the fellow answers the telephone. If you do not believe me, please call the phone number and ask some question about a particular game, or you are having a problem signing in. Here is the direct phone number for Tech Support: 1-888-551-9975 This is the same phone number that Pogo Games uses for their Tech Support. As of today, January 25, 2014 this is a working number. I know, because I just called them. BE VERY AWARE WARNING, JUST BEWARE I wish for you all, that join to be very careful. If you search the internet for any topic, make sure that you are comfortable with the url listing. It may say Phone Number for Pogo Games, but the url address is to a third party. Please be careful, I was told by Microsoft that These Social Sites such as Yahoo, Any Messenger, Game Sites, Facebook, Twitter, Ad infinitum. These are the type of sites that a malware program or virus, worm, et al is carried onto your computer. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ADEQUET Anti-Malware, I use Malwarebytes for removing junk, worms, Trojans, and the rest. If Malwarebytes can not remove the offensive junk, then it quarantines it, thus it can not hurt your computer. For my virus and general protection, I use ESET Nod 32. I believe both of these programs to be excellent in protecting my computer. Make sure and uninstall your security programs before downloading more of the same type of application because lets say you have Windows Defender and you want to change to Malwarebytes and/or ESET Nod 32, you do not want two (2) of he same type of programs at the same time. One will cancel out the other. Sorry for any typos or misspellings. Everything that I have said in this Comment is available for looking at using Bing or Google and doing a Search. I felt it my responsibility to write this comment to try and help everyone that reads it. I am afraid it is too long, and no one will wish to read it. Sincerely~ You may check every thought, never elleging that there was any wrong doing (and please read between the lines on my comment.
