THIS MONTHS FEATURE: SOME THOUGHTS ON THE HIGHWAY RE-ROUTE MOVEMENT Hey hey hey, ma Trini peeps! Okay so every time i see a mention of Wayne K. and his hunger strike protest, I see so many folks bringing up the questions of where is his family...how come more people not doing this with him...he is showing off...looking for attention. I dont believe that any of his supporters WANT him to do this. In fact I have seen many of them express fear for his life, but they understand his frustration and support his tenacity...his inner strength to even be driven to do this. Heres the deal...take away what Wayne K. is doing for a moment. Let that picture fade into the background for a minute or two. They are just asking for the government to look at another possible route, which does exist. They are just asking that the government be open with its citizens and show us that the money is being spent appropriately...they are asking for the TRUTH and TRANSPARENCY! WHY? Because the route the government wants to take... Means the unnecessary removal of an entire mountain The dirt from this will then be used to fill a lagoon...so it will become reclaimed land so that the highway can be built. Think destroying the mountain on the way to Maracas and then driving that dirt alllll the way to behind MovieTowne (for example) to reclaim there. So not a hill...a mountain is going to be removed! WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? Think logically...some trucking country will get the contract to move allllllllllllllllllllllllll this dirt...thats ONE TRUCKING COMPANY ALONE...any guesses who that might be? Well i could tell ya it isnt BLACKmans Trucking Company (oops CAPS lock went on by accident there). And actually I stand corrected...dey probably already have de contract...papers done sign...deal is already made. Were any of you frustrated at how one man was given $34million in another government program? Dry so? For nothing? Any of you frustrated at seeing all the empty buildings around that have been unoccupied for years and being rented monthly with your taxpayers dollars? Anyone frustrated at all the money...your taxpayers dollars, that are just simply being given out to individuals? Im working my butt off and cant see anyone giving me dat kinda money and lord knows I could use a few pennies. If you rock up to the Board of Inland Revenue ya tink you could just say yow..ah need a few dollars to build meh house...to buy meh car...you tink you gonna get it? Ha! You cant get $1000 but people getting millions? Dry so??!!! Then question...if there is a more affordable route that can be made, why is it that this crazy route is the only one gonna be taken? This aint $34million...now we talking multi billions...even more money! If you dont care about the environment...okay fine...losing a mountain and a lagoon means nothing to you. If you dont care about those losing their homes...then fine...it aint your property so what do you care? BUT maybe...hopefully, the concept of how much money...YOUR money is going to be given away...dry so...to CERTAIN individuals (none of them being your relatives, Im assuming)...then I suggest you WATCH. LISTEN. HEAR...the video...because you should be concerned about even more of your money being used inappropriately. This is about the same people making money off of yet another government project and less and less of us getting anything out of it. More and more of us working harder and harder and going to the bank to find nothing there, while others are living large off of your back! So may I ask that if you are mad at Wayne, that you please try to stop? Stop getting distracted and focus on what is really happening here.
