*****THIS SATURDAY July 20th GEAR CHECK OUT***** NEW LOCATION: Dicks Sporting goods. 17799 Lower Boones Ferry Rd, Lake Oswego Times: (Please arrive only during your players assigned time) 7th and 8th grades: 9am-11am 5th and 6th grades: 11am – 1pm 3rd and 4th grades: 1pm – 3pm Check-in: All Players must attend check-in and have their weight recorded prior to attending practices. Equipment: SYFA will issue the following to any player who needs it: Helmet, mouth piece, shoulder pads, and one pair of black game pants. SYFA DOES NOT currently issue the following: Long black socks for games, cleats, practice jersey, and practice pants. Any color of pants or jerseys may be worn at practice. Game pants can be utilized for practice but need to be washed prior to game day’s. Game Jerseys may not be worn at practice except on picture day. Game jerseys will be issued after teams are set. A parent or guardian must be present to sign for gear. What to wear: Have your player wear shorts and a tee shirt in order to try on gear. Players will need to remove shorts in order to try on game pants.(dressing area provided) If your player wears glasses during games then bring the appropriate pair to use while trying on helmets. Personal Helmets: Players who own their own helmets will need to bring them in order to be safety checked. Please note that all helmets must be re-certified after every 2 years of use in order to be used in practice or games. Helmets with a manufacture date or recertified date prior to the 2012 season will have Sherwood stickers removed and will not be able to be used until sent in for re-certification. Car wash tickets: Will be issued at check-in. Apparel: There will be a booth selling Sherwood Football apparel (** New Items added this year**) and a limited number of retired jerseys (can be used for practice) Dick’s coupons: Coupons for equipment at Dicks will be available at the check-in desk or are available now on our website. Make-up: A make-up date will be announced after July 20th. The make up date may conflict with scheduled practice time which may also require a make-up practice in order to fulfill the 10 hour conditioning requirement prior to allowing full contact.
