THOMAS SMITH HILLCLIMB IN ASSOCIATION WITH MDINA GRAND PRIX The 2014 Mdina Grand Prix Hillclimb will this year be backed and sponsored by Thomas Smith Group, a regular associate with the annual Mdina Grand Prix events organized by the Valletta Grand Prix Foundation. The Thomas Smith Hillclimb will be held on the 9th October, at Ta’ Pennellu Hill, Mellieha. Races kick off at 09:00 through to 13:00. A prize presentation will be held immediately after, awarding the first, second and third overall winners. Thomas Smith Group shall also be sponsoring the scrutineering event, which will be held on Sunday 5th October at the Malta National Aquarium, whereby all participating cars are thoroughly examined by officials. Neil Revington – owner of Revington TR in Somerset, United Kingdom – who is an expert of Triumph (TR) cars, is one of the foreign participants who will be racing his TR5, a model which was built for a 13-month period between August 1967 and September 1968. Mr. Joe Gerada, Thomas Smith Group Managing Director, and a participant himself, said “We are thrilled to be part of this exciting and prestigious event once again. The event has enticed many local and international race drivers. The Valletta Grand Prix Foundation claims that this year’s event will involve a minimum of 65 participating cars, 12 of which being foreign participants.
