THOUGHT FOR TODAY: STRENGTHEN YOUR RESOLVE TO SERVE GOD And - TopicsExpress

THOUGHT FOR TODAY: STRENGTHEN YOUR RESOLVE TO SERVE GOD And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many (Matthew 20:27-28). One of the areas the Spirit of God instructed us to strengthen, is our resolve to serve the Lord. You must strengthen your desire and passion for the Lord and His house. The Lord Jesus was the epitome of selfless service. Though He was the Son of God, He humbled himself to man’s level and gave His life as a ransom for the whole world. Now, He says “your attitude must be like my own, for I the messiah did not come to be served but to serve and to give my life as a ransom” (Matthew 20:27-28 TLB). That means we ought to copy the Master’s attitude of being service conscious. We shouldn’t desire for others to serve us, or try to lord over others; rather, we must strengthen our resolve and be ready to serve the Lord with every opportunity that comes our way. As you mature in Christ, the Lord expects you to get rid of the “me-first” attitude. You should come to the place where you take up responsibilities. You shouldn’t be content with merely being a member in a local assembly, having others visit you and check up on your welfare every week. You should desire to grow out of that level and join in helping to follow up and build up new believers. Never be the one to complain when you’re asked to render service in the house of God. You must always be enthusiastic about serving the Lord, and doing things for Him, not necessarily expecting to be praised or applauded by men. Do whatever you do as unto the Lord, for the Bible says “For God is not unjust so that He is unmindful of your labour and of the love which you have manifested towards Himself in having rendered services to His people and in still rendering them” (Hebrews 6:10 WNT). As you strengthen your resolve to serve the Lord by increasing your service to the Him, one thing sure, He will bless, promote and exalt you. Glory to God! Let the consciousness of the responsibility of service in God’s Kingdom dawn on you greatly and be excited at every opportunity to render service in His house, knowing that He is not unmindful to forget your labour of love. Hallelujah! SAY!!! Dear Father, I thank you for your grace that’s manifested to save, heal, deliver, uplift and prosper all those who’ll embrace the glorious salvation that’s in Christ Jesus today, as the Gospel is ministered around the world. Thank you for the guidance and leading of the Spirit for us all, preaching the Word around the world today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
