THREE DAYS WIDE AWAKE. It was a test of leadership to Mayor Quintin B. Saludaga and the 26 barangay captains of Lavezares to achieve the goal of zero casualty and to prove that Lavezares, under their leadership, is a disaster-resilient community. In the eye of the storm, Mayor Saludaga has been going around the major evacuations centers in Lavezares to oversee the condition of the evacuees tending their food and other immediate needs. He also closely coordinated with the provincial disaster command and the barangay captains to ensure that people receive only accurate information and minute-by-minute instructions. Working side by side with the local social welfare office and volunteers, all evacuees were all ensured of their safety and food and water from the moment they were preemptively and forcibly evacuated up to the last stretch of wind brought by the typhoon.
