THREE KINDS OF PEOPLE Part 3 1 Cor. 2:14-15 Further Distinction Among Christians:- Although regenerated believers receive the new life of the spirit, they retained the sinful nature with its evil inclinations (Gal. 5:16-21). The sinful nature that remains in them can not be made good; it must be put to death and overcome through the power and grace of the Holy Spirit (Rom. 8:13). They accomplish this by denying themselves daily (Matt. 16:24; Rom. 8:12-13), removing every hindrance or sin (Heb. 12:1), and resisting all sinful inclinations (Rom. 13:14). Believers themselves by the power of the Holy Spirit, must wage war against the sinful nature (Gal. 5:16-18), crucify it (Gal. 5:24), and put to death daily (Col. 3:5). By this process of self-denial and yielding to the Holy Spirits sanctifying work, believers in Christ will experience liberation from the power of their sinful nature and live their lives as spiritual Christians (Rom. 6:13; Gal. 5:16).
