THURSDAY, JULY 24, 2014: Ephesians 2:10 says, “God has made us what we are. In Christ Jesus, God made us to do good works, which God planned in advance for us to live our lives doing.” What are we doing??? We are told, as believers and followers of Christ, that God has a plan. He planned it well in advance. The question is are you following Gods plan? How do we know Gods plan? There are different seasons in our lives. Remember what we have studied before from Ecclesiastes? There is a time for everything. (See Ecclesiastes 3:1-8). During our different seasons God is with us and is working towards a bigger plan. We are not here on earth for us. We are here on earth for each other, working towards Gods bigger plan, which will be eternal. We are here to show the love of Christ, who came on this earth to show us exactly how to do so! In Mark 16:14-20 Jesus shows up to his 11 disciples. Jesus had already been put to death, buried and the town was talking about his tomb being empty. Could it be? Was Jesus risen from the grave?!?!? In this passage Jesus finds his disciples eating together and possibly in a moment of sadness and desperation. Jesus appears and gets on them for their attitudes and what they were doing. I can hear him now…”WHERE IS YOUR FAITH?” They were stubborn and were refusing to believe, and just think, they literally walked on earth with Jesus! Where is our faith today? Do we sit and wait for God to work, or pray in the POWERFUL name of Jesus and get to “doing”? What are our instructions? READ Mark 16:14-20. We are to go EVERYWHERE in the world, and speak about this Good News we have right in front of us. It changed our lives from desperation to HOPE! Why are we not sharing and giving God the glory?!?!?! It is time to stop facing defeat and start SHARING TRIUMP! We can use Jesus’ name to accomplish these things. THERE IS POWER IN THE NAME OF JESUS!
