THURSDAYS FORECAST FOR THE WEEK AHEAD: THURSDAY: Dawn - TopicsExpress

THURSDAYS FORECAST FOR THE WEEK AHEAD: THURSDAY: Dawn temperatures are 11-12°C, as expected, with mostly clear skies. The temperature should pick up to an afternoon high of 18-19°, as we enjoy a fairly similar day to yesterday but with a more gentle (force 3-4) west-southwestly breeze. Anybody whos keen to go to the beach this afternoon couldnt do much better than Pembroke really. With a low spring-tide at 2:20pm, this should have the most perfect expanse of pristine sand and smooth water. Overnight, cloud will spread in from the west, which will actually lift temperatures from about 13°C at midnight, to about 14 or 15° by dawn on Friday. FRIDAY: Its looking a bit cloudier than I initially expected. Just like on Wednesday, some of these clouds might come awfully close to giving us a shower, but we will probably stay dry in the end (sorry gardeners). The wind should start off as a force 3-4 west-southwesterly, but it should become light and variable towards the evening (perfect for an outdoorsy start to the weekend). The afternoon max should be 18-19°C. SATURDAY: Hazy sunshine and gentle easterly breezes. A mild dawn temp of about 15°C, should rise to about 20 or 21°C by the mid afternoon. The west coast should be prime for trips to the beach. The wave-faces should be a super-clean 2-3 (when the tide is mid-high), so small-wave surfers should ideally go to Vazon during the morning or the evening. Low tide is in the middle of the afternoon. SUNDAY: More sunshine and light east-southeasterly breezes. We will probably see another degree or two on our thermometers, both at nighttime and during the day. The waves will be smaller than on Saturday, but they should still be fun for little learners, and of course the water is still lovely and warm for swimmers. With low water only half an hour later than on Saturday, my beach recommendations are exactly the same. Finally, for those who are still buzzing from last Friday nights epic thunderstorm, there is a SLIM chance of another treat on Sunday night. Ill keep you updated as the time approaches.
