TICKET TO RIDE Last weekend, there was a 3-day sale raffle - TopicsExpress

TICKET TO RIDE Last weekend, there was a 3-day sale raffle promo in SM City (August 15 – 17). Aside from the discounted items, you will also have a chance to take home a brand new Suzuki Ertiga. That’s an awesome marketing strategy isnt it? People will buy more and in turn, SM City will have more sales. Forget the marketing stuffs, the prize is SUV! I feel lucky at that time. So I bought some welding equipment in a hardware store on Saturday. I turned-over my receipts and was entitled with four (4) raffle tickets. Then, I saw one customer obtained thirty (30) or more tickets. Damn. Maybe he bought expensive appliances for that. Nevertheless, I placed my raffle entry in a pool of thousands of tickets and went home. Ok, fast forward. Later this morning I checked the SM City page. What the heck, I did not win the SUV. Well, that should be expected considering my odds of winning are awful. The announced winner amazed me. On August 17, the admin of the SM City page posted the announcement of winner around 10:50PM but he edited it twice and finalized at 11:04PM. Surprisingly, the winner commented to the post at 11:06PM. Wow, that was fast. That was just two minutes, my friend. I think she was ready for it. As if she knew already what to do. She was even the first one who commented. To erase the doubt, I deemed it coincidence. Wait a minute. What are these comments that I have read? A woman said, “gpakyaw na gyud nimu …” A man said, “Grand slam!!!” And another woman said, “Wow Cuz, cge lage ka kadaog dha SM. Ka swerte nmo dah! Congrats!” Now that’s amazing! I was not in the SM during the announcement of winner. If they would draw the ticket and announce it to the public that night, the announcer could just possibly look at the ticket and say any person he/she wants to win without telling the exact number and exact name written in the raffle ticket. Then hid it afterwards and a new raffle ticket comes out to be validated by authorized personnel. I presume that the person, the declared winner, already had her ticket and the other half was with the announcer’s pocket all along. The announcer could memorize the winning number and the name for three days before the drawing event. For the greater love of SUV, that would be easy to remember right? If they did not draw it in front of the public, the scenario could be worse. No, no, no. I don’t think there’s connivance between the announcer and the winner. It’s just a theory. After all, she is a very lucky person who always wins raffle promos at SM City.
