TIDBIT: Greetings, My name is Kelly Wilson and I am the Community Center Director at The Salvation Army here in Springfield. I have an exciting volunteer opportunity available (called a Counselor Internship) for teens ages 15-18 during the summer months and would appreciate your help connecting with any interested students from your school. Included in this email are brochures, fliers, & applications for this great opportunity for you to print and utilize with your students. Please feel free to put the following info in your school announcements, post info, and/or discuss it with applicable students. The Salvation Army’s Counselor Intern Program is for students ages 15-18. Counselor Interns must possess a sincere desire to work with children. Counselor Interns will be working with our Summer Day Camp program for children from schools in the Springfield area. They must show a willingness to learn leadership skills, possess a solid work ethic, and strive to be a positive role model. Counselor Interns will assist day camp counselors in implementing all daily activities and aid in providing a safe, fun, clean, and nurturing environment. This internship can also be used for school required volunteer hours. Here is a short paragraph about the program that you may share with your students in your school bulletin or on your website about the opportunity.
