TIP: A “Keepers” Folder might come in handy “Thanks to James Ross for asking the question” So here you are, tooling along nicely at your event when suddenly, you hit upon a string of tracks that really seem to get the crowd moving. A couple of guest requests lead you to discover a few new Bangers and Floor Filers that you had never thought of or had forgotten about. Wouldnt it be nice to be able to add these discoveries to a directory or folder for later use? In VDJ there are a number of ways to accomplish this. The preferred way is to: Create a FILTERED Folder Named Current Session or Already Played, using the script: Already Played =1 This filter will list all of the tracks you have played during your current session, in alphabetical order, making it easy to locate your track. From there you can drag it to the side list or directly to a folder of your choice. A better way is to instead map a keyboard shortcut (Example SHIFT+K) to get the action: virtualfolder_add Keepers In other words, create a Virtual Folder (RED) named Keepers Now when you have a track you like and it is already playing, go to your ALREADY PLAYED filtered folder, highlight the track and press SHIFT+K and the song will be added to your Keepers Folder. NOTE: To make it easy to get to your Already Played folder, set the folder as a shortcut in your side list. And remember, VDJ keeps a history of every track you play so you can also do all of this from the VDJ HISTORY folder while live or even after the event is over. Enjoy!
