TITLE: PEOPLE CULTURE AND CAPABILITY TRAINEE LEVEL: YEAR 1 80% LEVEL 2 STEP 1, YEAR 2 90% LEVEL 2 STEP 1 DEPARTMENT: CORPORATE SERVICES POSITION OBJECTIVE: This position is a traineeship provided to train and develop the incumbent in administrative and human resource skills in a business environment. In the first year of tenure the trainee will undertake the Certificate III in Business Administration and in the second year, the Certificate IV in Human Resources. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Proactively undertake tasks and provide administrative support to the People Culture and Capability team. Contribute to the maintenance of HR Systems in relation to data collection and reporting, i.e. Skills Register. Input, delete and correct data to maintain section databases. Draft correspondence, reports, minutes and other associated information, which may include managing section emails and calendars, when required. Issue buildings access/authorised officer cards and register associated documentation. Provide assistance to the team by filing documents in personnel files on a weekly basis. Assist with the purchasing of goods and services, by obtaining quotes, raising purchase orders and processing invoices. Assist with section activities and implementation of marketing and promotional programs. Provide assistance to General Manager Corporate Services with phone coverage during Executive Assistant absences. Maintain a high level of confidentiality in accordance with Legislation and Council Policy. Participate in staff development activities including internal and external training. Develop and undertake key responsibilities of section Support Officer. Develop an understanding of practical human resource functions and areas of responsibility. Timely completion of assignments and assessments relating to studies. Meet objectives and requirements of internal training plan. Follow defined occupational health and safety policies and procedures. Other duties as required within the skill and scope of the position. ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Responsible to the Manager People, Culture and Capability REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION: Minimum year 10 schooling, with passes in Maths and English.
