TITLE/RANK Assistant Professor, Nutrition and Food Science DEPARTMENT Health and Nutrition Sciences DESCRIPTION Tenure-track position for a candidate with expertise in food and the environment for our growing undergraduate and graduate program in Food Systems. Appointment includes curriculum development as well as teaching and developing undergraduate and graduate courses in food and sustainable operations, food and the environment, food and agra-systems, and food production. Faculty members are expected to be active scholars, to advise students, and to participate in department, college and university committees and activities. The Department and the College of Education and Human Services are committed to student and faculty diversity and value the educational benefits that derive from such diversity. We are seeking candidates who demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in and with socially, culturally, and economically diverse communities; have a commitment to education for social justice, democratic and inclusive practice, and critical thinking; and are interested in addressing issues of inclusive education in research, teaching, teacher education, and curriculum development. QUALIFICATIONS Required: Earned doctorate in food production, agriculture, food studies, environmental sciences, or a related field, with expertise in food systems and production. A well-defined research agenda and evidence of scholarly activities. Preferred: Demonstrated ability to bridge the gaps between sustainable local and global food systems and food distribution inequalities, and to address the environmental impacts of food and agricultural systems. Experience teaching in higher education. Experience using digital technologies to enhance teaching and learning, including teaching online. SALARY RANGE Salary competitive and dependent upon qualifications.
